FAQ: What is Airigami.8?

Introduced in 2020, Airigami.8 is the latest generation of the classic Airigami design. The scale of Airigami.8 varies depending on the size of paper used to print the models, and can be varied by altering the printing scale. However, printed at full-size, Airigami.8 models are roughly 1:205. Learn more about scale here.

Airigami.8 uses the same design principles as Airigami Classic – if you are able to successfully build Airigami Classic models, you will have no problem in building Airigami.8 models. Airigami.8 models can be scaled the same as Airgiami Classic designs however some calibration at the time of printing is required. We have provided instructions on scaling that explain how to do this.

Airigami.8 and Papier Avion are largely compatible with each other. It is possible to build models that are “Airigami 8½” where you can easily substitute parts between each style of model. For example, it is possible to install Papier Avion engines on Airigami.8 models, and vice-versa. We recognize that there may be some aspects of each that each individual builder prefers. Both series are designed to the same scale and share many of the same attributes.
